Yes, "Unalienable rights" are essential in a democratic government because, it is our natural rights, we were born with them. This includes, liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression. The government must protect those rights. Because they wanted them as much as the people did and we deserve them.

A "Representative Government" is, a group of people who made laws and that group of people acts for the people. The American Colonists expected this because they didn't want the government making all the laws based on what they see and witness, they wanted some of laws based on what will help them with what they need and don't need and what needs to be prohibited.
